About

Matt is a Partner in our commercial business and property teams.

Matt has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial law and specialises in advising clients on business sales and acquisitions, contract negotiation, joint ventures, structuring, shareholder arrangements, limited partnerships and financing.  Matt has a particular expertise and interest in private and family owned business and the opportunities and challenges which are unique to these businesses.

He also advises clients on a range of general commercial arrangements, such as supply agreements, distribution contracts and licensing agreements. Matt advises property developers both residential and commercial on all commercial stages of the development process from site acquisition to sell down.

Matt also practices in the rural sector, acting for a wide range of family businesses, individuals and organisations with farming, forestry, horticulture and other agricultural interests.

With an interest in early-stage start-ups Matt has experience in assisting such companies with their legal requirements.

Matt is pragmatic and understands the commercial objectives that impact business decisions. He helps clients with practical solutions that enable innovation and success, while managing their risk.

Matt is actively involved in the Cambridge community as a committee member of Bicycle Revolution, the organisation responsible for the annual Cambridge Cycling Festival. Additionally, Matt is a trustee of the St Peter’s School Foundation and the Frances Skeet Charitable Trust which has a community focus for the people of Cambridge.
