Dayna joined Lewis Lawyers’ dispute resolution team in 2023. Dayna’s main practice area is dispute resolution, focused on relationship property, employment, and civil matters.
Dayna assists with:
- negotiating, providing independent advice and drafting of relationship property agreements;
- Family Protection Act 1955 claims (including advice around challenging wills and Deeds of Family Arrangement);
- working through employment disciplinary matters (including attending mediations and investigation meetings);
- raising or responding to personal grievance claims (including assisting with mediation and applications with the Employment Relations Authority);
- changes in the workplace (including staff onboarding, as well as reviewing and updating of workplace policies and employment agreements: and
- drafting, reviewing, and working with disputes related to contracts in general (and including terms of trade or construction matters).
In addition, Dayna’s experience includes assisting with:
- protection orders and parenting matters;
- applications for appointments of property managers and welfare guardians; and
- applications for limited licenses.
Dayna enjoys the negotiation aspect of disputes and has a keen focus on resolving matters outside of the Court room (but is more than happy to take on a challenge in the Court room if needed).
Prior to joining the Lewis’ team, Dayna’s background includes working within a litigation team at a Te Awamutu based firm, and at Community Law Waikato (where she continues to volunteer).
Dayna takes a pragmatic approach to her matters and has a client-focused attitude towards her work.
